OIC extol Saudi Arabia’s Announcement of Providing Aid for Afghan People

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has welcomed Saudi Arabia's announcement of a major relief operation for Afghan people, as the first batch of Saudi aid airlift arrived in Afghanistan, it was reported today.

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hussein Ibrahim Taha yesterday praised the step and appealed to his organization's member states and Islamic financing institutions to provide support to Afghan people to mitigate the current humanitarian impacts. OIC reported that its member states foreign ministers are set to discuss at their emergency conference next Sunday ways to provide humanitarian support for Afghan people.
