GCC Secretary-General Receives Official Invitation from President of Azerbaijan

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi received Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Saudi Arabia Shahin Abdullayev at the General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh today.

The ambassador presented an official letter from President Ilham Heydar Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan, inviting the secretary-general to participate in the World Urban Forum, which will be held in Azerbaijan in May 2026 in cooperation with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme.

During the meeting, several topics were discussed, including regional and international issues of common interest, relations between the GCC countries and Azerbaijan, and ways to strengthen them.

The parties also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments.
