Activation of Declaring Red Sea Special Area for IMO, Approved

Under the chairmanship of the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, the 18th Ministerial Meeting of the Ministers of Environment of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden states held here today, approved starting activation of declaring Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, as a special area for the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Secretary General of the Regional Organization for the Conservation of the Environment of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden (PERSGA) Ziad Abu-Ghararah said.

Ministers of the PERSGA member states, including the Kingdomof Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Sudan, Jordan, Yemen, Djibouti and Somalia, have takenpart, in the meeting.
