Saudi Arabia Participates in GCC Statistical Meeting in Oman

General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) President Fahad Al-Dossari participated in the 12th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Permanent Committee for Statistical Affairs, hosted by Oman on September 4 and 5.

The meeting, which gathered heads of national statistical agencies from GCC countries, focused on key statistical developments and ways to enhance cooperation and integration.

Al-Dossari highlighted the importance of unifying GCC statistical efforts to keep pace with global changes and noted that stronger statistical integration is crucial for supporting economic and social growth as well as improving the region’s standing in international reports.

He also praised the role of the Statistical Center for the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC-STAT) in coordinating these efforts.

The meeting concluded with recommendations to boost expertise exchange, improve statistical infrastructure, and strengthen capacity-building programs.
