Saudi Arabia Marks International Day of University Sport

Saudi Arabia is celebrating the International Day of University Sport today, a day officially declared by UNESCO on September 20 to promote human and social values through athletics and to highlight the role of universities in encouraging young people to engage in physical activity.

On this occasion, the Saudi Universities Sports Federation reiterated its commitment to building a national model for university sports, aiming to develop the capabilities of young people and prepare students to become active members of society.

The federation also encourages universities and colleges to participate in annual sports activities and tournaments, emphasizing the role of sports in enhancing students' physical, mental, and social well-being.

Through extracurricular activities, university sports help achieve academic goals and promote equal opportunities among students, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 and its objective to invest in the potential of young people.
